The SMA Electronic Licensing System Goes Live!

The Spectrum Management Authority (SMA) of Jamaica has gone live with its new e-licensing system based on the Spectrum-E© software product from Spectrum Center, Inc. (McLean, VA). The SMA Electronic Licensing System (ELIC) is a complete electronic spectrum licensing system covering all wireless services and certification and interference complaint handling processes to go into full production in the Caribbean region. The new ELIC includes an on-line citizen web portal that allows for on-line submission of all types of licensing and certification applications handled by the SMA. The citizen web portal is the first of its kind in the Caribbean region and includes support for online credit card payments to cover application fees as well as licensing/certification fees when appropriate.

The ELIC supports various departments in the SMA including engineering, spectrum control and monitoring, licensing, and accounting. End-users can access the ELIC through a modern HTML5 compliant web browser allowing it to be cross platform compatible with any modern computing device.
